Boiler plus is new legislation that came into force on the 6th April 2018. Boiler plus came about to improve the energy efficiency of homes in the UK. By increasing the efficiency level of your heating system.
All boilers must have a minimum ErP efficiency of 92%. They must also have time and temperature controls fitted. Combi boilers, which are the most popular boiler type in the UK. Must have one additional requirement to comply.

What is Load Compensation?
Load compensation measures the response of the heating system. It then adjusts the boiler temperatures based on what it needs.
What is Weather Compensation?
Weather compensation devices enable the boiler to read the outside temperature. It does this via a sensor so that the boiler can adjust the temperature of your heating accordingly.
What is a smart control?
A smart thermostat is one that can be remotely operated via the internet. Among the features built into smart controls are Automation and optimisation.
Automation is a function that allows the device to automatically control the heating system. Responding to programmed demand (e.g. scheduling with temperature control) or occupancy detection.
Optimisation means the device calculates how long it takes the property to reach the desired comfort level. And times the system’s operation to minimise the amount of work it has to do.
What is a Flue Gas Heat Recovery?
A Flue Gas Heat Recovery (FGHR) is a device designed to improve the energy efficiency of the boiler. By recycling the heat from the flue gases which would usually be lost into the atmosphere. Instead, this heat is used it to preheat domestic hot water.
Are ideal boilers compliant with boiler plus?
